Despite needing to make a last-minute substitution, with Kevin Farrell stepping in for Matei Garcia, Ireland managed our only 4-0 victory of the tenth PGETC against Norway on Tuesday night. Sadly Croatia were equally successful against Slovenia, securing first place in League C on the tie-break.
However Ireland’s second place finish earns us a play-off game against the ninth-place finisher in League B, keeping hopes of promotion alive. That spot is currently occupied by the Netherlands, but a win in their final game against eighth-placed Sweden would move them out of the relegation zone and leave Sweden with the challenge of facing down an on-form Irish team. Tune in to IGS for the final round of League B games on May 19th.
