More relaxing than a full-on tournament, less chaotic than a Wednesday night in Toner’s — it’s the Smithfield Special. We’ll meet in the comfortable offices of Workday in Smithfield, Dublin 7 for a Sunday of rated games, as many or as few as you like. Tune up for your next tournament, practice your innovative new fuseki, or just play for the craic.

Handicap: difference in rank minus two

We’ll make the first pairings at 11.00. After that, it’s self-paired — play whoever is available, or put your name up on the board and wait for a challenge. 

Entry is gratis, but you must be a member of the Irish Go Association — the Secretary will be happy to sign up new members on the day. Tea and coffee will be provided, bring your own biscuits.
