After a good start in the competition, John had a bit of an unlucky draw in the closing rounds. He finished in 52nd place with 2 wins and a lot of SOS. Full results table here.

The 31st World Amateur Go Championship will be taking place in China this year. Ireland will be represented by the venerable John Gibson. You can follow the action via the ranka online magazine. Update – John won his first round game, see article for details.

The first online Interprovincial Tournament has come to a finish. Leinster triumphed over Munster in a 2-0 victory this weekend. Perhaps Munster’s poor preparation was illustrated by one of their player’s forgetting to turn up to play.
