The Annual General Meeting of the IGA is scheduled to take place on October the 21st at 7:30 in Larry Murphy’s. Some details of an agenda should appear here later.

Details for the Belfast Open are now available, see webpage for details. The event will take place on the weekend of the 26/27th September. It will be EGF Class B and either 4 or 5 rounds. Issue 2 of the Newsletter is also available to IGA members

Noel and Claas played their Top 8 game in Larry Murphy’s the Pembroke. Noel, playing white, emerged the winner after giving Claas two weak groups in the opening. This result has been reflected in the championship table. The Top 8 is now past the half way stage.

Ian and Claas played their Top 8 game tonight in the John Hewitt pub in Belfast. Claas (Black) tried very hard to lose in yose, but was unsuccesful, winning by 5.5 points. This result has been reflected in the championship table.

Brian Gallagher finished on 3/8 points, securing 52 place for Ireland. He scored wins over Cyprus, Phillipines and Chile. China’s Yuqing Hu won the event for the second time. See ranka online for excellent coverage.
