2016 Irish Confucius Cup Date Announced

Ireland’s largest Go and Chinese Chess tournament, The Confucius Cup, will occur next year the weekend of March 4th-6th 2016. More details to follow soon.

Connaught win interprovincials

Connaught secured their third inter provincial title with a 2-1 victory over Ulster. Congratulations to them.

More Go Lessons with Fan Hui

The Confucius Institute for Ireland has generously sponsored more Go lessons to the Irish Go Association.
Fan Hui 2p will be giving lessons starting tomorrow, September 9th on KGS. More details can be found here.

Karl wins Belfast

Karl Irwin was victorious in the recent Belfast tournament with a perfect 5/5. James Hutchinson was second. His seventh year in a row to make the top 3 without winning. In third place was visiting Louise Roullier from France. Full results to follow.

James Plays Well at WAGC

James Hutchinson 1d represented Ireland over the last week at the 36th World Amateur Go Championship in Bangkok, Thailand. He finished in 45th place after wins against Azerbaijan, Belarus, Portugal, and Costa Rica, and losses against Switzerland, Cyprus, Mongolia, and Lithuania.
